# Revelation 13: Mark of the Beast Systems Are Being Built Now

*"It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark."* — Revelation 13:16-17
John wrote these words nearly 2,000 years ago. Believers have wondered ever since what the "mark of the beast" would be.
**We no longer need to wonder. We can see the infrastructure being built.**
## The Components
Revelation 13 describes a system with:
1. **Universal requirement** — "all people"
2. **Biometric marking** — "right hands or foreheads"
3. **Economic control** — "could not buy or sell"
4. **Identity integration** — "name of the beast or the number of its name"
Look around. These components exist now.

The mark represents identity with the beast—taking his name or number.
### Eternal Consequences
*"If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God's fury."* (Revelation 14:9-10)
**Taking the mark is not mere inconvenience. It is eternal separation from God.**
## What the Mark Is Not

– Plan for support of refusers
### 4. Mental Preparation
**Accept the cost of faithfulness:**
– Economic exclusion is likely
– Social ostracism is likely
– Physical persecution is possible
– Martyrdom is possible

## The Promise
Revelation does not end with the mark. It ends with:
### Protection for the Faithful

### The New Creation

## Do Not Fear
The mark system is terrifying. But:
*"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."* — 1 John 4:4
*"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me."* — Psalm 23:4
*"In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."* — Romans 8:37
**The one who marked us with the Spirit (Ephesians 1:13) is greater than the beast who demands his mark.**
## Conclusion
The infrastructure of Revelation 13 is being built before our eyes:

**We can see the train coming.**
Prepare now:
– Spiritually
– Practically
– Communally
– Mentally
And remember: **the mark is not yet compulsory.** We still have time to build alternatives, strengthen faith, and warn others.
